Features

01Lookups fill in the details

Add an item in a minute, not an evening

Scan the barcode or type the catalogue number, and the label, year, country and format come back from Discogs. Check what came in, add what you paid and a photo, and save. Each category has a form cut to its own fields, so there is nothing to skip past.

  • Search by barcode, catalogue number or artist and title
  • Photos straight from your phone's camera
  • The receipt and documents kept on the item
The new item form for a record, with the autofill panel on its catalogue number tab. BLP 1577 is typed in, and the Discogs matches for John Coltrane's Blue Train are listed, each with a Use this button.
02Six categories, each with its own fields

Fields that fit what you collect

A record has a pressing and a grade, a game has a platform and however much of the box is left, a guitar has a serial number and a receipt. Each category keeps its own fields, filters and condition scale, and every collection opens as a sortable table or a photo grid.

  • Condition on the scale your hobby already uses
  • Table or cards, with the count and what you paid on top
  • Stats per collection, broken down by year

03No lock-in, on every plan

Bring your list. Take it with you.

Your collection probably lives somewhere already: a spreadsheet, a Discogs account. Upload the CSV and match its columns to stashu's fields, or hand over the Discogs collection export and every release comes in looked up. Getting your data out works the same way, whenever you ask.

  • CSV import with column matching, in every category
  • Discogs collection import and export for records
  • An insurance PDF with every serial number, price and photo
The second step of the CSV import, with the columns of a six-row file matched to the record's fields. Each column shows sample values and an Imports as menu.
04Read-only links you can revoke

Show the shelf, keep the receipts

Make a link for one collection, a category, everything you own or a wantlist, and send it to a friend, a fellow collector or a forum thread. They see the items and photos without signing up. What you paid, serial numbers, notes and documents stay off the link.

  • Share a collection, a category, everything or a wantlist
  • No account needed to look
  • Remove the link and it stops working

Questions people actually ask

Do I need a separate account per collection?

No. One account holds all of them: music gear, records, video games, books, movies and home electronics. Each gets its own fields, views and statistics.

Is my collection private?

Yes. Nothing is public unless you make a share link, which is read-only and stops working when you remove it. There is no social layer, and we never sell your data.

Which items can be looked up?

Records, books, movies and video games. You search in stashu and we look the item up for you: records on Discogs by barcode, catalogue number or artist and title, books in Open Library by ISBN, scanned or typed, or by author and title, and movies and games in Wikidata by title. You choose which details to keep and which to enter yourself.

What currency does it use?

Whichever you set in your account. Prices, totals and the insurance PDF all follow it, with your preferred number and date format.

Can I get my data out?

Any time, on every plan. Each collection exports on its own in several formats, and the full export holds all your data, including documents and photos.
