Stashu calls it

Complete in box

The game, its box and its manual. Inserts, maps and registration cards go in the notes, so CIB means the same thing for every copy.

World 1Cataloguing
  1. 1-1

Log a copy, not a title

Title, platform, region and release year, so the PAL and the NTSC-J copy of the same game are two rows rather than one.

  2. 1-2

Look it up, don't type it

Search by title, with the platform if you know it. The title and the year it came out on that platform fill in from Wikidata. Region, completeness and condition stay yours to set, since no catalogue knows your copy.

  3. 1-3

    Bring the spreadsheet

Upload the list you already keep as a CSV and match its columns to the fields. One row, one copy.

  4. 1-4

    Completeness in one word

Loose, complete in box or sealed. Condition is graded separately, mint to poor. What a loose copy still has goes in the notes.

  5. 1-5

Shoot the box and the label

Up to five photographs a game: box front and back, the cart label, the manual, the seal.

  6. 1-6

    A collection per shelf

The Saturn shelf, the sealed ones, the drawer of loose Game Boy carts. Each collection counts its games and adds up what they cost.

  7. 1-7

    What you paid, and when

Price and date per copy, in your currency. The receipt goes on the game with the photographs.

World 2When it goes wrong
  1. 2-1

    The insurance document

Every game in a collection, what you paid and a photo of each, as one PDF: for an insurer, or for a police report.

  2. 2-2

    Duplicate check at the market

Search your own shelves from a phone, at the stall, before you pay for the same game twice.

  3. 2-3

    Condition evidence

Dated photographs of the box and the label, taken before the loss rather than remembered after it.

  4. 2-4

    Your data, out

A CSV of every field per collection, or a zip of the whole account with the original photographs and documents. On every plan, whenever you ask for it.

  5. 2-5

    A link, not a profile

Show the shelf to a friend with a read-only link to one collection, every game you own or the whole account. What you paid stays off it. No feed, no leaderboard, no trade requests, and nothing is sold on.
